All of the paid survey sites (including those on my list of favorite paid survey sites) will tell you that you can make a living just by taking surveys. Become a “full-time survey taker” one of the websites says. I have a popular article here on my site in which I try and give the real scoop on how much you make taking surveys. But at the end of that article I say that if I were more dedicated and spent more time qualifying and such that I could make more money. This has inevitably lead to lots of people asking me just how much money it is possible to make taking paid surveys if you are completely committed to it as a full time job.
But let me further qualify here (because some people will say my answer is very low.) This estimation is based on what one person can make by taking surveys using only their own name and demographics (some people set up two accounts, one with their own name and one with their spouse’s, and take surveys on both accounts.) Furthermore, this estimation is based on telling the truth in your qualification answers – even when you know it will disqualify you from a survey.
I believe that if you wanted to find enough surveys to take for 8 hours every day, and if you had good demographics (see my article on good demographics here) you could qualify for surveys worth around $15.00 per hour. This includes some time spent taking lots of those qualification questionaires in order to get the surveys. So that is a max of $120.00 per day, and if you take surveys 8 hours per day, 7 days a week, you could earn $46,800 a year. So, can you make a living just taking surveys? Yes. Will you enjoy taking surveys for 56 hours per week? Maybe not. I really like taking surveys, but my limit is about 3 hours in a day. (Of course I also work full time, so maybe my answer is skewed.)
Could you make more than this by lying on prequalification questionnaires to get better paying surveys? Sure you could, but I recommend that you tell the truth these forms. (Here is why you shouldn’t lie on these questions.) So, if you have the dedication, you could make survey-taking a full-time job. If you do it, let me know how it goes for you, I could use a good success story here.
